We receive bill from Yaquina Bay Boat - they need to sent bill to Toledo JR/SR High

Basketball
Went to camp this last week. We did really well against other teams there. We had fun and learned lots.
Baseball
Lance has all the uniforms other than 2 sets. 1 set is on the way back to him and the other is being charged to play, hopefully that uniform will be returned in a week or so
We are having other fundraiser this year. We will doing the garbage at summer festival and cooking for jv football games
Track
Fundraiser - Will have a run/walk during summer festival. Mike Oleman needs flier so he can post them down at the mill.


Projects:
Baseball:
Backstop- district will take care of brackets, we need to take care of netting
Scoreboard - we need to move scoreboard and the district will provide equipment and electrician.
Painting - Lance will paint batting cage and dugouts

Gym
Mike and Angie Oleman will be touching up paint in gym after July 14
Track and field
District has torn out long and pole vault runways. Getting ready to have Road and Driveway come in and pave new runways.
New pole vault runway is being prepared.
Would like to move high jump back closer to goal post
Dan Sjostrom is worried about the 2 alders behind concession stand. These will need to be taken out when he cuts down other alders.
Sand for the field should be here in a month
Work Party in a week or two
Football
would like to put cages in the locker room for equipment. Mr L. said that he has some students that will be able to do this work. All agreed to has Mr. L put bid in writing before this work is started.


Administrative Report:
Small schools went through. We are still $16,000 shy on athletic department. We will have meeting with coaches to see if they are willing to take a 20% cut.
With the small schools money we are adding back teachers and classified position that we cut earlier, mostly in the middle school (science and english), art and tech. The new VP is Clint Raver and he will take care of the AD position.

Alder trees - Dan will be falling them on June 12th. Football team will stack and sell for fundraiser.

Treasurers Report:
Bill on the backboards was messed up they billed us for 14,475 not 14,775 so sent another bill for the 300.00. Scores tables was 2495. (all these bills were past to be paid there was no need to past to pay again)
We decided to send back rim if we do not want to replace rim.

Track
Larry Johnson took Cass and Jess Thompson to Oregon Elite in Bend. They took 8th & 9th in shot and 3rd & 4th in javelin. Cass pr’ed in both.
We also help with the Newport Marathon and made $900

Boy’s Basketball
Leaving for camp on June 21st. This is a good camp for players and coaches

Football
Spring football went really well. We worked on new plays and they are looking good.
 
Cross Country
Dan Nelson wants to run the Portland Marathon in Oct. We have some runners that are going to practice all summer they are excited about next year.
 
Administrative Report:
The small school funding past the House and now is on the Senate side. Next board meeting will be on June 23rd

AD Report:
This is mine last booster meeting as AD. This club is the best it has ever been. Thank you Janet for taking the track team over and getting the spirit back into the school. I am proud of our crowd and player and parents. Hope every this goes good here. GO BOOMERS
 
Community Report:
Some of the students help with the bay clean up. There was a group of boy that won 1st and 3rd prizes for the football team ($350)

Bruce Brown will be in Newport in August. Last year when the athletics went and seen him in Eugene, they said he was great.

Couple of girls are going to Oregon Elite. It is a meet with 1a to 6a. We are working the marathon in Newport this weekend

Open gym will be Tuesday and Thursday 5:30 to 7pm

Spring practice is going good. 60% of our team is running backs and receivers. The kids are having fun

Getting the team together. We have a couple of fundraisers this summer, setting up schedule for next year. We have a mug pit race
 
Administrative Report:
Budget meeting was last night. We have good news, we received $93,000 additional money. This is a small school money that Waldport has been receiving and we received it. We will receive 30-40,000 until 2012.
We need to talk to our school board representatives how we feel about sports in schools. Over ½ of our students play a sport during the school year. 1/3 of them in spring sports alone.
Any coach that is planning a camp or overnight out of town needs to talk to me, there has been changes in policy.

Thanked the booster for putting on the breakfast. At district retirement recognition Deb Hyte received superintendent’s award and the Toledo Boosters received a community award.
District budget meeting is on Thursday May 28 if you are not attending the Senior awards we ask you please come and support Toledo schools. The small school grant passed the revenue committee.

District is today and tomorrow in Salem at WOU. We are fortunate that we have district the same place we have state. Dan Nelson place 1st last Friday in the 1500 and 2nd in the 3000, he also ran in the loyalty day run and placed 1st overall

Grades went pretty well. The football, softball, and baseball fields are holding up. It is nice to see all of our work going well.

Hopefully we will have baseball and softball game today. Sports are coming along. Grades come out next week. I have AD league meeting today. We have 8 varsity games for football next year

TOledo is in the top 10 All American City. we are looking for volunteers to help with this project (fundraising and other) there is less than 60 days for presentation

Game against Regis, the boys played good losing by 1. Game against Waldport went really good, won by 1.  We have a young team.

Track
we’ve had 3 meets since our last meeting and 2 of toughs were league.  At Junction City, we were the only 3a school there.  The 2 league the girls took 1st and boys took 2nd.  Tuesday we had home meet against Waldport and Eddyville.  Girls and boys placed 1st.  They are coming along as a team, creating new bonds.  We received a real positive email from Creswell.   
 
Administrative Report:
Bob Shindelman told us that he was moved to Toledo Elem. School this week.  It was a sudden move.  Can’t say enough Thank You to all. 

Brian Flannery introduce Paul Tucker as the new VP for the rest of the school year.  Would like to thank the track team for the great email from the Creswell doctor, you make us proud. 
 
AD Report:
Thing are going pretty well. During spring break baseball is set up for 3 DH and softball is set up for 4 DH. JV girls are set up for 4 games against Newport.
 
Community Report:                                                                                                                

  Willie Worman from GP gave report:  May 16th is the river clean up.  The biggest group could win $500.  Starts at SE 10 and Gaither way at 9pm goes to Noon ending at Yacht Club in Newport

Would like to thank Tad Brown for the golf shirts and Tim Limbert for the scheduling for golf. Monday was our 1st match in McNary it was miserable really wet. Tyson Oleman took 5th individual and team took 4th. Glen Bulter had pr with 117. Matt Edward had the only birdie.

Our 1st game was yesterday. We won 12/0. The girls had fun. Nikki Brown pitched really well. JV won 15/0. They played really well.

Our 1st meet was Tuesday, it went really good. Girls place 1st and boys place 2nd. Toledo took 1st overall. We had 6 teams.

The team is coming together. Working hard and we have good attitudes on the team. We have 7 pitchers, hoping that each pitcher will be able to pitch 2 innings each. We are needing dirt for the infield. Nic Dahl said he will pay for half of the load. The membership passed for the boosters to pay the other half.

I went over to Burns with the Girl’s Basketball team. The motel people to him that our girls were the BEST group they have ever had. Look forward to spring sport season to start. Our first is St Paddy meet on the 17th.

Bruce call me last night and told me that Burns played Myrtle Point. They beat Myrtle Point 50/17. Our girls should have won Burns. Awards banquet is March 3rd was really well. Monday is the parent mandatory meeting for spring sports. Luke Marchant and Kyle Oleman have been invited to a daily basketball in Washington on April 5th. They will be able to play 3 games. The best 15 players will be invited to the national team.

Last Friday we won Creswell in overtime. Megan White and Lindsey Grove had a really good game. We are headed to Burns today. Game will be tomorrow at 3pm. We had a good week of practice. Would like to thank the booster for $250 for dinner on the way over to Burns, JC Market for the water, Babe Brown for the sandwiches, and AdverTee’s for the state t-shirts. We practice tonight at 7 in Burns. If we win we will play Myrtle Point at Willamette U.

Ian Moss is at state today. He will be wrestling at 11am

We have a good turn out, it is looking like about 20-28. We were able to practice on the field yesterday. The field is coming along nicely.

Last Tuesday we had a great fund raiser with the superintendent, we made $122
Bob Shindelman will be painting the wall this weekend.
Last Monday there was 80-85 people at the meeting for our school future budget, best showing we have ever had. Next meeting is Tuesday Feb. 17th at 6:30pm
we are moving ahead with golf.

Tuesday went over the boys and girls golf schedule. We had an AD meeting, there are real concerns for all school about their sports programs for next year. Next Monday there is a all league meeting.

Last Friday we played Harrisburg #4, they played really well the 1st half, 2nd half there was 4 min that the boys couldn’t make a basket and that is what lost the game. Tuesday we played Santiam Christian, were within 5 by the 1st half, Santiam played well showing their senior leadership. Tonight we are at Regis, Tuesday is against Waldport and senior night.
This summer we are having a summer league, 1 camp, and we have been invited to OES to their summer league.

Played well against Harrisburg and Santiam Christian.
Freshman
Beat Harrisburg, and lost to Santiam Christian. Tonight they play Regis here. Tomorrow they play Neah-Kah-Nie at 3pm
 
Girl’s BB
The girls played a perfect game in the 1st quarter against Harrisburg, after that the lost focus. Tuesday against Santiam Christian they played really good against the #1 team. Tonight is at Regis and should be a really good & big game.
Wrestling
Last Saturday we had our tournament here. It went really good. We had 16 teams. Ian Moss place 3rd, Hunter Chavarria tied for 3rd with a 5 match limit. Dylan Anderson won 2 lost 1, he knock himself out and got a concussion, he is out until Monday. Mike Johnson and Buck Chavarria were out in 2. Last night we had our last duel, Mike Johnson won 1 and lost 1. Buck Chavarria lost 1. Tomorrow is the Lincoln County Tournament in Waldport, Ian and Mike are the only wrestlers going, Hunter is out until Tuesday, Dylan is out until Monday, Buck is out with his shoulder.
 
Swimming
Almost done with our season. We had 3 meets, Joise pr’ed. Couple of the boys Kyle and Jessie might have a wild card. Working on going to districts. Kids did well this year, we had a fun season.
 
Baseball
Boys have came up for batting practice. We so far have a couple of new players. Tomorrow we are having a work party for the infield, starting at 7 am. We have a bill at AdverTee’s for hats and t-shirts. Talk to the school districts about moving the score board. Hoping for a JV team. One of the boys is looking into a small grant. We sold one banner.
 
Softball
Saturday and Sunday we are working on the field. Hopefully we will have the hill fixed. Sold 20 banners
 
Track
Excitement is building up in the school for the season to start. Excited to see the improvement of the track.

Last night was at Waldport. Ian won both by default. Mike won 1 and lost 1, Dylan won 1 and lost 1, Buck lost 2, this was his first time of wrestling, Hunter won 1 and lost 1. Tomorrow we have our tournament here with 16 teams coming.

Last night they had a meet in Tillamook and tonight their meet is in Newport. They are doing better. 2 weeks is district in Astoria

Talked to Tim Kauffman about dirt and drain lines at the back of the field. Pleasantly surprised that the banners are selling. We wanted to sell 16, we have sold 14 already, our new goal is 26 banners. Weekend we are having batting practice.
 
Middle School
Girls BasketballSorry the season is over. B team was 1st in the league, during the tournament they lost to Newport. A team was 1st in the league, during the tournament they took the tournament. They did really good. The high school has a nice future to look forward to.

Rod Cross has agreed to take on the head coach for basketball for next year.

AD Report:
Excited that we have been busy for almost all the Saturday’s this month. After the basketball game we will be bring down the mats for the wrestling tournament. We have 14-16 teams coming to the tournament. We have a lot of helper that volunteered. After tournament Mr. Brattian class will take the mats back up stairs.
I got the girl’s track record up on the wall. Question: Where do we want the fight song, in the same spot or in a different spot? It was decided that in the same spot.

Rod Cross (Mayor) spoke with Rep Cowan, she is in full favor to place Toledo’s name to the small schools list. She thinks there will be no problem for this to pass.

We had our first duel here last night, Siletz and Eddyville came to fill our spots. It went well. Last Saturday we were at Siuslaw, Ian Moss and I (Hunter Chavarria) tied in our weight brackets for 5th. Tomorrow we are in Gervais
 
Swimming
We had the last couple of weeks off. Next week we will have 2 meets one in Tillamook and Newport. We have 15 students out. Swimming is going good.
 
Softball
We are working on the holes in the infield. The outfield is looking good. We are having batting practice on the weekends. We are selling banners for the softball field for a fund raiser. Rich introduced Howard Richardson as his new assistant coach.
 
Track
Excitement is going around the school for the upcoming track season. Rodger Johnson will be the assistant coach, Adam Kruz is coaching middle school track. Count down 24 days.

Presidents Day Peter Vince is setting up a bus to go to Salem, to see the legislature about the school funding

Golf, We and Tim are talking about how to work the golf team. The volunteer coaches will need to go through the same criteria as the paid coaches. Mike Oleman might know a couple of people that will coach golf.

We were at Taft on Saturday. The tournament went pretty good. We lost Erick Young to a knee injury. Ian Moss placed 1st in 103, Michael Johnson placed 2nd in 130, Dylan Anderson placed 3rd in heavy weight, and Hunter placed 2nd in 189. Tomorrow we go to Florence.

Last Tuesday we played Harrisburg (#4 in state) Kameron received a knee in the chin. Tournament was fun, 1st game was against OSE that game didn’t go to well, next day against Gold Beach we won in overtime. Looking forward in tonight game against Santiam Christian, they are #2 in state. Saturday is here against Chewama all games are at the high school. Games will start at 2 pm with JV boys. Reedsport tournament was exciting, we won the tournament with Megan White as MVP. Toledo tournament we didn’t do as well. We lost to OSE by a few, Cassie Thompson was MVP. Harrisburg (#4 in state) we were right in the game with them in the 1st half, then we fell apart in the 2nd half. Tonight we play Santiam Christian (#1 in state) we are excited about the game.

Last weekend we were at Reedsport. Erick Young placed 3rd and he was the only one that placed in the tournament. We are going to Taft tomorrow and it should be a good tournament
Swimming
Since the last time we met on Dec. 12, we went to North Bend, we did really well. Last meet was canceled. Not a lot of students came to practice during winter break. Tomorrow we are at Philomath. Our next focus is on districts.

Deb Hyte came in with a football from Whitney Reed, Whitney Reed’s brother-in-law is Nick Barnett. He plays for the Green Bay Packers, as a middle line backer. This is his 6th season there. Still have 6 out. 1st Tournament is tomorrow at Scio. 3 will be going. Michael and Erick have SAT’s and Hunter is injured.

1st meet was this week. We had a lot of fun, we have a lot of new ones out, they did pretty well. We have co-oped with Eddyville to have anyone that wants to swim, they can join us.
 
Softball
We will be up there today at 10 am for maintenance. The fence has been moved. The field is looking really good
 
JR League Girl’s BB

Both teams are doing well. They both are 4/0. They are working hard. A-team won against Lincoln City 30/0 and B-team 28/0. A-team are a tough group of girls, they have played together for many years now. As soon as they can start playing as a team they will be unstoppable.

Would like to congratulate first time coaches. You are doing a great job, and Bruce is doing a fine job with the girl’s basketball.
We heard rumors about how the crowd gets when we play Newport, but there was no innocent at this game the parents and students were great.

Gate at our 1st game did really well against Newport. We had to split it 50/50. The gates bought in $1100 so we were able to keep$550.
Next week we have a schedule change - the boys Friday game has been changed to Tuesday and the girls will be playing in Newport and Friday is at Neah-kah-Nie.

The fall sports awards was great- standing room only. Would like to thank the City of Toledo with the up and coming Apire program. We like to seeing the leadership here.

Boy’s BB Doug Grafe is the Freshman coach. He working closely with Rod Cross. Is excited for the season, there is 10 freshmen out this year. Will be looking at putting a freshman team schedule together, there are 6 schools that can support a freshman team in our league.
Varsity - working fundamentals and defensive. Boys are looking pretty good. They are coming along as a team. We are having fun. We have 27 out and 2 are injured.

Wrestling Would like to thank the boosters for the new singlet. Practice is going good, we have 9 to 10 out. Excited for the season.

Sports Report

Football - Game against Waldport went well. Waldport scored right off, than we took the game. we stalled in the 2nd quarter. Kyle Retherford QB in the 3rd quarter so he could get more experience on varsity. we played a lot of young players this game. the boys were disappointed about how the season ended. 1st Team - Aaron Shurts, Erick Young, and Kamron Sjostrom. 2nd Team - Tyson Oleman Cody Collins, and Willie Van Hook. Cheerleader - We had our last game Friday. We had 2 boomer mascots, The girls did a really good job, They were as loud as Waldport if not louder. There was a incident at the game though, a 60 year old man was taking pictures of the girls and was arrested. He is not allowed on any of the Lincoln County School District properties

Football - Jefferson didn't’t pan out like we though it should. Our injuries hurt us, it was a rough game. Tonight is at Waldport, we will be putting players in new positions. We should have a good running game.

Cheerleading This week we have 2 cheerleader. Last week was awesome!!!!! This year our goal was to get the student body and parents involved, these girl did a great job at that. Doug Hunt and JC Market donated sub sandwiches for us to throw to the crowd. Cross country athletic were amazing. We had a lot of fun.
 
XC Cross Country is over. Our team greatly improved. 9 out of 15 PR’ed at district. Kayla Johnson took 15th out of 100 and Dan Nelson 13th out of over 100. No one went to state. Half out team is graduating this year. It was a great and fun year.
 
Volleyball Volleyball is done. Went down to Crestwell, we loss. Some of the girls from the other team said it was the best game all year. We went to Regis for playoff and loss in 4. Girls played really well.
 
JR League Division 1 took 2nd and Division 2 took 1st place in Lincoln City last Saturday.
 
Baseball Jerry Pryor and Ron Manning talked to Tim Kauffman about mowing the fields for baseball and softball, Tim anodized that the person who was mowing this summer was not told how the fields should have been mowed and that was his mistake. Would like to take it back over.

JV Monday was are first game at home against Regis. 44/0 Kyle Retherford throw the ball well, Kohl Marks caught and ran the ball well. Monday is a home game against Monroe.
 
Cheerleading We did really well at the Chewama game, it was a lot of fun, we had a lot of crowd involvement. Friday’s game against Santiam Christian went really well, had a lot of fun, no boomer that game it was raining, didn’t want the costume to smell. We had a lot of crowd involvement. Every week we are learning new cheers and dances.
 
XC Today we are headed to pre-district in Salem. Last week we went to Astoria we left here at 3:30 am to be there by 7 am. This wasn’t a school event, I wanted to show them that there is running after high school. AJ Brown did something to his foot, everyone else is healthy

This is also homecoming week, yesterday was "kill the couch" day and today is pirate day, Saturday we will have a parade at 6pm on main street, powder puff game at memorial at 7pm, and bomb fire after the game. Jell-O wrestling is on Tuesday at 7pm. Monday Volleyball is here against Chewama, Sr Recognition at 6:30, Friday homecoming football against Jefferson, Sr Recognition before the game and Coronation of the Homecoming Queen is at half time

Football

Our team mostly consist of seniors and sophomores. Last week Derek Purdom pass to Austin Lancaster for 4 touchdowns. Don’t believe that Harrisburg was that bad of a team, we played really well. JV played most of the 2nd half. Tonight we go to Chewama. They have some really big players. We should do well. Joe Wilson is still out of school. Kyle Oleman is still out with his ankle, Tyson Oleman is still out with a broken arm, Dylan Anderson is in a walking cast, Kyle Shimmer hurt his knee, and not sure where Sean Brandt is with the strain muscle/tendon with shin.

We are all feeling better this week. Last week’s game was really fun with the band. We are working with the band on cheers. We have a Boomer for the next few games. Everyone wants to know who the Boomer is. We have new cheers this week. (They preformed one of the new cheers for the boosters)
 
Cross Country

Everyone is healthy and no injuries. We had a good week of practice. All have improved their mile. We should see lots of PR’s tomorrow at Philomath
 
Volleyball

We had a good and disappointing week. Crestwell we loss in 3 and Harrisburg we won in 3. Tomorrow we go to Gaston. Next week we have a big week, Monday - Jefferson (need to win), Wednesday - Santiam Christian, Friday - Regis

We have a new infield, laid the turf, came out perfect. Took 7 hours fill in the ditches after the district mowed. We would like to ask for a riding lawnmower for all three fields. Leroy said he will put money towards the mower.

Baseball - Lance went to the league meeting for baseball, trying to plan for next year, to see if they can have Friday and Saturday games. The player will have a lot less travel and less missing school.
 
Track - Both girls and boys placed 2nd in districts. Beth Stams received "Pac West Co-Female Athlete of the Year" and Bo Johnson received "Pac West Male Athlete of the Year" at districts. Taking 8 to state today, hoping to have a safe meet. Janet Johnson received "Coach of theYear" for the boys and "Co-Coach of the Year" for the girls.
 
Administrative Report:
Adult admissions went up for next year to $5.00. We will be having season passes for next year for the home games. Would like to thank everyone that helped with family night and the sign it was great. We had about 400 people here.
 
AD Report:
Athletics Awards have been changed to Thursday, May 22nd in the cafeteria 7 pm. Desserts will be served.

Sport Report:
Baseball - This was a trying year. We had to travel a lot. We lost a lot of players when grades came out. We had a lot of fun this year. Tonight is our last game, all the seniors will start varsity tonight. JV was undefeated this year. We need to figure out away for the foul balls not to go towards the softball field.
 
Track - Track is going really well. We raised $1700 on our fundraiser. So far we are in 1st place at districts. We placed in 10 field and 11 running events. Bo Johnson broke the record in districts for shot put with a 44'7". We will return for finalist on June 26, 2009 Was a exciting districts. First day we were 9 behind and the second day we caught up and won by 4. Joe Edwards received the Medal at districts. State is Monday and Tuesday at Emerald Valley Golf Course and we are shooting for 2nd.
 
Girl’s Golf - Districts went pretty well. We golfed better the 2nd day. Rachenda Goulet received Honorable Mention
 
Softball - No Report
 
Cheerleading -Tryouts were yesterday. Practices were at 6am to 7am for the last 2 weeks. The girls will know today who made the squad. The cheerleader will be doing community service. Shannon and Wendy have written a mission statement for the cheerleaders. They are really excited for the new year.

Family Night is tonight at 6-8pm. K-12 will be highlighted tonight. Our new sign will be up today.

Really good news we have our teams for next years Holiday Tournament. Gold Beach, Oregon Episcopal, and Sutherland all have agreed to come
We have a wrestling tournament, Central Linn confirmed today, making 13 teams..

Boy’s Golf- We set a school record an 84. We also beat the 2nd place team by 30 strokes. Districts will be Monday and Tuesday at Mallard Course in Lebanon. We have a good team going and should do well. We should be going to state, we have enough points.
 
Girl’s Golf - Districts will be Monday and Tuesday at Ocean Dunes in Florence. It is a narrow course. Girls are doing fine for a young team

Track - Is going really good. Lots of pr’s. taking 2 buses tomorrow meet. Home meet next Thursday the 17th.
 
Boy’s Golf- We played Santiam Christian all the district team were there, we placed 2nd. At Emerald Valley we placed 3rd. We seem to play worse in the rain than the valley students. Today we play at Salishan
 
Girl’s Golf - We played at Santiam Christian last night, 18 holes- was long course. We have had some good days and some bad day for practice. We are a young team.
 
Softball - Trying to keep the girls up beat, all the traveling is getting to them. We really want a home game. Will be asking for materials for the district to fix the softball outfield.
 
Administrative Report: Looking forward to a baseball and softball game when the weather permits. Prom decorating will start Tuesday after school.

Last was in Seattle and looked at a new school and at their gym, is looking at replacing our bleachers with new plastic bleacher this summer. The plastic costs the same as wood and easier to replace when broken.

Paula Priest took early retirement and Brian Flannery is Principal.
Brian is excited to have a new sound system. Looking at a the next 2 years calendar, ours will look more like Taft, less ½ days. Would like to put as much information on the calendar as possible (events, fundraiser's, etc. ).
